24th August 2005 - To celebrate the centenary of Alley and McLellan (makers of the Sentinel Waggons) the Sentinel Drivers Club organised a 3 day road run starting in at Summerlee Heritage Park near Glasgow and ending in Shrewsbury where so many Sentinels were built. 5676 took part in the first section of the road-run, travelling the 40 miles each way from Summerlee to Abington (near junction 13 on the M74). Unfortunately the Waggon then had to return to Summerlee to be ready for Sumerlee's August bank holiday public weekend, so missing the excitement of the full road run.
Many of the UK's running Waggons took part, including those from HMS Sultan and the former Cowlairs Co-Op.
