New cab roof
Winter 2004
The timber roof of the cab had become rather like a colander. There was little point in climbing into the cab to stay dry when the rain started! The structure of the cab is mainly timber based, the roof being an integral part of the structure. A sheet steel covering was laid and affixed over the timber, providing both a dry cab and a stronger structure to the cab. This was done as a temporary measure until the cab is replaced wholesale.
